Press Release Body: AKVIS announces the release of AKVIS Enhancer v.9.2 for Windows and Macintosh. The program allows improving detail on an image, no matter what was the cause of the unsharpness. Enhancer brings into focus blurred images. Besides, the program supports HDRI technology. Version 9.2 corrects two serious bugs: program crash on multi-monitor systems and incorrect display in the preview window on computers with certain monitor profiles. Also this version offers improved compatibility with Vista SP1. Update for registered users is free.
AKVIS Enhancer is image enhancement software that helps you improve detail on photos no matter what was the cause of the problem: poor/excessive lighting, motion or bad focusing.
The software offers three modes that can treat each problem separately:
The new Focus mode (added in Version 9.0) improves blurred images by bringing into focus the whole image or only certain parts of it. It happens that the camera fails to focus on the object of shooting and the photo comes out fuzzy. This mode can rescue such out-of-focus images. The mode offers several presets that are recommended for the first acquaintance with the program. Read the hints to the parameters to understand how it works and create your own presets if needed.
In Enhancer mode the program brings out details on one single shot by intensifying color transition. The tool is useful in cases when a photo has an uneven exposure. For example, when a picture has been taken with the background overexposed and consequently the foreground is hardly discernible, which is especially annoying when you take a picture of a person. Or when a photo lacks dramatic effect due to vagueness of the scene.
The HDR mode is only available in the Standalone version of Enhancer. The HDRI (High Dynamic Range Imaging) technology expands the dynamic range of an image and shows details in both shadows and highlights. Note that you will need several shots of the same scene to generate one HDR-image. But the result is impressive.
Version 9.2 corrects two serious bugs: program crash on the second monitor on multi-monitor systems and incorrect display of an image in the preview window on computers with certain color profiles. Besides, this version offers improved compatibility with Vista SP1.
The program is available in two versions - as a standalone application and as a plug-in to a photo editor.
The plug-in version of Enhancer has only Enhancer and Focus modes. It supports Photoshop batch processing that allows applying the same settings to a series of images. The plug-in version is compatible with Adobe Photoshop, Corel (Jasc) Paint Shop Pro, Corel Photo-Paint, Ulead PhotoImpact, etc.
